      EVENT DETAILS
Laws Treating a Fetus as a Person and the Woman Less of One (CEL Fusion Discussion)

The Center for Ethics and Leadership invites the St. Edward’s and Austin communities to gather over a complimentary lunch to discuss this thought-provoking topic of our modern times: In 2019 several U.S. states passed laws that restricted abortions after a fetal heartbeat could be detected at about six weeks. Some critics of the laws noted women do not often know they are pregnant at six weeks, so such laws may protect a fetus as a person but seem to treat a woman as less than one. If you have dietary restrictions, require special accommodations, or need additional event details, please contact Sherri Defesche at sherrid@stedwards.edu.
