3 hour Beginner's Aerial Videography Drone Class (Austin, TX)

Become a better Aerial Drone Videographer and maximize your content creating skills in 1 day. Have you ever wondered why after spending hundreds if not thousands of dollars on the latest drone you still can't get content you're really proud of? We're not talking about the videos you post on Instagram, but stunning content that can be considered art and hold attention for longer than a few seconds. Train yourself to capture amazing content and never miss a moment again.  This 3 hour class is a crash course in aerial drone videography. Taught in the heart of Austin, Texas, Zilker Park  (in groups of 5-10 students), you'll learn about the various features on your drone, the proper settings to use in different lighting conditions, and even what kind of drone to buy if you don't already have one. You'll understand concepts like exposure, aperture, depth of field and shutter speed, and probably never want to use the automatic mode again. Additionally, we will review the intelligent flight features on your drone, the differences between professional and consumer friendly drones, and how to capture both aerial photography and cinematic footage with and without the intelligent flight features on your drone.  No prior experience or drone equipment is necessary to attend. Just a desire to improve your aerial drone videography skills. Take this class for yourself or gift it to a friend who is interested in the hottest new trend in the video world: DRONES.  Frequently Asked Questions What's the class schedule? This is a 3 hour class held August 28, 29, and 30th between 7 AM and 10 AM (before the sun gets too hot). More classes will be added at a later date.  What's the format of this class? It's a small group class between 5-10 people held at Zilker Park where there is plenty of space to fly without obstacles.  I already have some experience from playing around with my drone on my own. Will this class be useful for me? Yes, it could be a good baseline for you to consolidate all the knowledge you've picked up from your own experiences or other online resources and learn the proper and safe way to fly. From types of drones, to flying terms, to drone terminology, we have you covered. The class should inspire you to capture more cinematic footage and train you on how to maximize your drone's potential. You get to ask any imperative questions to a licensed unmanned aircraft pilot. And it's a great way to spend a beautiful morning in the company of other beginners and amateurs. However, if you already have a good handle on your drone and have been flying for many years, this class is probably going to be too basic for you. This class is designed for beginners who want to learn the ins and outs of their drone through hands on application. This isn't a traditional class where you have to take notes and get quizzed. We want you to walk away with practical knowledge on capturing cinematic footage with your drone as well as understanding the many functions of your drone in a safe and practical way.  What kind of drone do I need to attend this class? Bring whichever drone you currently own. No need to buy anything special or fancy for this class. We explain the differences between different drone brands, so you'll be better informed about what kind of drone to buy, should you decide to upgrade your current one. What else should I bring to class? Your drone and any accessories, spare batteries, something to drink, an umbrella if you're sensitive to the sun. Even if you don’t own a drone yet, you can still come to class to learn about what type of drone might be best for you.  Anything else I should know before attending? If you just purchased a drone, please follow the instructions for set up prior to class. You want to make sure your firmware and software is all up to date and there are no connectivity issues. Please troubleshoot prior to class so the class runs smoothly. If you still have trouble shoot me an email. All your devices (controller, phone, batteries) should be charged up to 100% prior to class. Don't forget vital accessories like memory cards and crashpads. Wear sunscreen if you're sensitive to the sun, the Texas heat can be intense! Come hydrated and ready to learn. Who is teaching the class? This class will be taught by an Aerial Drone Videographer with FAA107 pilot license licensed through ATX Aerial Photography. Drones used for the class will include the Mavic Air, Mavic Pro, and/or Typhoon. Our pilot has two years experience working in both professional and recreational aerial videography and photography and can answer any questions you may have about your new drone.
