Youth Advocate Programs Family Fall Festival

The Williamson County Youth Advocate Program (YAP) invites you to attend, volunteer, donate and participate in the first annual Family Fall Festival on October 26, 2013 at Centennial Plaza, 301 W. Bagdad Ave., from 1:00 p.m. - 7: 00 p.m. The Family Fall Festival is an opportunity to bring the community together for a day of fun and to raise funds to support youth and their families in Williamson County. The event will showcase games, live music, food, local vendors, and even a pet adoption.

In partnership with the Williamson County Probation Department, Williamson County YAP pairs youth in the juvenile justice system with community-based Advocates. The Advocates work with the youth to identify and achieve goals, obtain educational assistance, participate in positive peer engagement, and address any other identified supports the youth and their families need. Williamson County YAP maintains an 83% success rate of youth who complete the program successfully and do not re-offend.

To make the Family Fall Festival a success, YAP is seeking local vendors or businesses for the festival marketplace. Volunteers are also needed to operate game booths, provide music and help with set-up and clean up. If you are interested in any of the above or becoming a vendor, please contact Tiffany Herms at YAP is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. All donations are tax deductible.

The YAP Family Fall Festival will be a safe family-oriented day for everyone in the community, as well as an opportunity for the youth involved in YAP’s program to plan and organize an event and experience the positive impact they can have on other people's lives. Not only will they build and decorate the booths, they will also assist in operating the festival activities. This experience will help them to feel pride in something they have accomplished while helping them build self-confidence, develop good social skills, and give back to their community.
