Los Guerreros de La Musica
Los Guerreros de La Musica is from the great City of Houston, Tx. They may have formed in February 2009 but they are far from being rookies! Each and every member has an extensive musical background and has grown up playing multiple instruments. The members (except the two brothers) are from totally different walks of life. This makes up a pretty unique sound.
"It is difficult to explain our style because we are still trying to find ourselves, musically. And everyday is a new one."
It all started back in the mid-nineties...Jesus "Guero" Romero was gaining confidence in himself by playing show after show after show with Mariachi, Jazz Band, & Marching Band. In high school he met percussionist, Stephen Araujo. They instantly clicked. They would stay up all night improvising. That is where the foundation started. Things were looking good for the young musicians but life got in the way. For some reason they could never start a band. It was just improvising. No actual song. Jesus then served his time in Iraq for four years. While he was there he met a lot of new musicians and slowly started to gain momentum with his own music. He wrote songs and started teaching and jammin' them with others. This gave him a taste of what performing his own music COULD be like. In January 2005, when he got out of the Navy, the first musician he called was his old buddy, Stephen. At that time, Stephen just started learning how to play congas. They started to lay down the ground work to some of the "riffs & lyrics" Jesus had came up with. Things were starting to look up. But life still found a way to slow down the process. In the summer of 2007, Jesus and Stephen started to perform acoustic sets at small clubs and private parties. Things were once again looking up. But they needed more. They needed more musicians. More energy and fresh vibes. So they searched for the next year and a half. Finally, they found them. Danny Breeden. Tony Guerrero, & Alex Guerrero. From their very first practice together in February 2009, they felt like they might have something good about to happen. Now, a few months later, they are starting to become more comfortable and trusting with each other. They are really starting to think outside the box and collaborate at full throttle.
