AUSTIN, TX — September 13, 2011 — On September 22 at 5:30 pm, The Austin City Council is set to proclaim Trinity Street as "Magic Street" for the 30th Annual Fall Pecan Street Festival. The proclamation reflects a new partnership between the Old Pecan Street Association (OPSA) and Doc Seaton’s Magic Sideshow, which debuted as the Sixth Street Magic Festival in 2010.

In honor of the partnership, the OPSA donated funds to send children from two Austin low-income apartment complexes to Austin's Fantastic Magic Camp, and to support an onsite magic show at each complex this summer. "We're grateful to the OPSA for their help in opening the world of magic to kids who wouldn't have otherwise had this chance. We hope that many more people from the Austin community will come out and enjoy the Magic Sideshow at Pecan Street Festival," said Aaron Parker-Fasel of Fantastic Magic Camp.

In addition to Magic Street, there's much, much, more to enjoy at the Fall Pecan Street Festival:
      • Nakia, Tortilla Factory, and a diverse lineup of almost 50 other acts! (full schedule)
      • Featured Artist Amado M. Peña Jr., and more than 300 exhibiting artists
      • The LEGO® Experience Tour, an Austin festival exclusive, and other children’s activities including a petting zoo and carnival rides
      • The Wahl Mobile Grooming Tour, where stylists compete to create the best men's look—beards and mustaches welcome!
      • Verts Donar Kebap, German-style sandwiches served from the world's smallest and smartest food cart, and more than 20 food vendors including international, gourmet, and healthy food choices
Produced twice a year by the OPSA and Special Events Live, Pecan Street Festival benefits the City of Austin and several local non-profits, including Austin Boxer Rescue, Austin Pets Alive, Fantastic Magic Camp, The Knights of Columbus, and Bowie High Girls Lacrosse.

From start to finish, the Pecan Street Festival strives to be the greenest festival in town. Take advantage of Capitol Metro's weekend bus schedules
